Original encaustic photograph created by first applying a clear encaustic medium over a photographic print, then carving into that surface, followed by painting colored encaustic medium on top in deliberate patterns and carving again to reveal the layered designs you see. The photograph was taken at Pierce Point Ranch in Northern California.
